What should you be experiencing at a good sneaker store

Our goal is to look beyond the Facebook sponsored big name blogs that tell you what sneakers you should be wearing. To look beyond the bloggers and vloggers and for you to wear what you feel.

As a lover of all things sneaker, unfortunately I feel that the only way people get information about sneakers is through social media influencers and big-name sneaker promoting bloggers.

As someone that has been to my fair of sneaker stores, I'd rather visit multiple stores and receive a unique experience in each and every one whether it's a large chain of stores or a small one-off boutique.

That's what makes it difficult for people just getting into sneakers. They need to be exposed to a diverse range of sneakers whether that's general release (GR), Euro/Asia Exclusives or even down to your top-tier NikeLab/Adidas Consortium and collaboration pieces.

Which is why our model is unique to the Sydney Sneaker Scene. Where our range of Nike, Timberland, Vans, Saucony, Le Coq Sportif, Adidas and Lacoste is possibly the biggest in Sydney yet we try to fill in the void that we cannot get by normal means through our consignment service.

That means you have the chance of finding shoes that you love, exposing you to how diverse sneakers can be, and we learn more about you as a contributor to the sneaker world.

For example, we stocked the "New Love" Jordan 1 Mid 2017 release, yet if you're looking for the actual "Old Love, New Love" 2007 Jordan 1 Retro you might try your luck if someone consigns it at our store.

At a sneaker store, you should also be recognised for the sneakers you wear because you're not just visiting a store, you're partaking in your own sneaker journey even if you're just browsing because being exposed to what different stores have is the best way to learn.

So instead of following your big sneaker bloggers, follow your local sneaker heads and culture, follow boutiques around the world from Europe, to Japan to even yours truly at Sole Mate Sneakers because you can trust them with sneaker knowledge and be recognised for what you know and own.
